Hot Rod Power Tour 2019 – 25th Anniversary

Posted Dec-28-18 at 12:00 AM By Flynn
What is the Hot Rod Power Tour? Most car shows are not mobile, unlike the objects of car shows, which are mobile. One can certainly make the case for stationary car shows, to which the people are shuttled in their thousands. On the other hand, not every car show lets everyone take part, and the Hot Rod Power Tour is basically a mobile car show in which anyone who wants can participate. The Hot Rod Power Tour is seven days of hot rods and muscle cars, seen at and between seven cities. Some enthu [...more]

Auto Show Schedule Japan

Posted Nov-14-16 at 12:00 AM By Jackie
Though trade agreements exist between Japan and automakers from Europe and the United States, you’d be hard-pressed to recognize many of these makes on Japanese roads. It should come as no surprise, then, that auto shows in Japan are nearly devoid of a typical American or Euro ride. Indeed, the two Tokyo auto shows might give outsiders just a glimmer of definition to the phrase “Because… Japan.” 35th Tokyo Auto Salon 2017 January 13 - 15, 2017 If you’re more interested in vehicle customization t [...more]

The New York Auto Show Kept Pace with Detroit’s

Posted Apr-18-16 at 12:00 AM By Jackie
New York is like Detroit in the world of auto shows.  It draws a big crowd in addition to providing a venue for automakers to showcase their finest.  2016 was no exception as the two in the one-two punch of introducing models carried quite the impact. Glitz, glamour, and sparkling reflections combined with comfort, concepts, and horsepower as automakers brought forth model after model of advanced engineering.  As stylish as the show entries were, a replica 57 Chevrolet convertible showed Detroi [...more]

The 5 Most Expensive Auction Cars

Posted May-26-14 at 12:00 AM By Jackie
Auto auctions find a large audience on TV due to the excitement and sheer insanity of the prices. There is everything from the super rare exotic, or the very first of the production run, to the historic race car previously owned by a celebrity. While car auctions are not a good barometer of actual retail and resale prices, they are fun to watch, and to occasionally gawk at the prices. While cars in private sales go for truly bonkers prices, you would need seven figures to purchase any cars on th [...more]

The Biggest Car Show in the World!

Posted May-06-14 at 12:00 AM By Jackie
As Americans, we like to lay claim to the biggest and best of everything. Biggest economy, most inefficient government, largest people, biggest ball of twine, and so on. But did you know that the biggest car show in the world takes place in Europe? We tend to think of the US as the world’s largest car buying market (it’s not, that’s China), and look at top car shows like Pebble Beach, SEMA, and Woodward for examples of big and thriving car culture in the States. However, this tends to make us no [...more]
