Auto auctions find a large audience on TV due to the excitement and sheer insanity of the prices. The L88 Corvette was manufactured in 1967.  Because only 20 were built, it is considered by many collectors to be the ultimate American-made car. Earlier this month an L88 went on the block at Barrett-Jackson. It had the additional distinction of being the only 1967 L88 built in red. At last week's Barrett-Jackson, film fiction came to life when a recreation of 'Tow Mater' went on the block. Tow Mater is a character in both Cars and Cars 2, blockbuster animated films from Disney-Pixar. This version of Tow Mater was created on a 55 Chevy truck and customized to resemble the animated car.
