Tire rotation is an important part of making sure that your tires are performing their best. If you rotate your tires at the times you should it can help preserve balance and handling. It can also prolong the life of your tires and have performance advantages. Tires should be rotated anywhere from every 3,000 to 5,000 miles to ensure that tire warranties stay in effect and to keep your tires in top shape. You could keep yourself on schedule by having your tires rotated every time you have the oil changed in your car.  You can use this to inspect the tires for damage or solve any balance or vibration issues. Also make sure to check your tire pressure as well. Having accurate tire pressure is just as important, if not the most important part of tire maintenance. Properly rotating your tires will help prolong the life of you tires by making sure that each part of the tire is used. Then, you will not need to buy tires as often because you tires will be properly worn on each part of the tire. Having even wear on your tires is the goal with tire rotation. If you can, try to make sure your four tires wear evenly and at the same time. There are distinct advantages to this.  Wear reduces the depth of a tire’s tread. And if all four tires wear evenly they can better respond to what the driver wants the car to do. For example, if any sudden movements are made.  Also if your tires wear out evenly you can purchase four new tires when those ones eventually need replacing. You won’t be forced to buy new tires in pairs.  That way you can have the latest tire technology on all four of your tires. So remember to rotate your tires and do it often!
