When it comes to hobbies, what's not to love about cars? From custom rims and tires to eccentric paint jobs and pin stripping, there is a car and style out there for everyone. But most car enthusiasts will agree that while the car industry has a lot to offer, antique car shows are hard to beat. On the outside an antique car show can look like just a collection of old cars, and in many ways it is. However, there is much more about them to appreciate. Antique cars are a piece of history. How many times have you wondered what the world or society really looked like 50 or 100 years ago? Antique cars provide a way to grasp that little bit of history. The auto industry was one of the key industries during this country's formative years. You can see in person the classic Ford Model T or sit in the first mass produced car in American the Curved Dash Oldsmobile. With that small piece of history we can gain a better understanding of the past and appreciate how far we've come; from the assembly line to improved performance and safety. It doesn't take much to view and appreciate antique cars; however for those who own and refurbish antique cars it's a lot of work, especially if you want to keep it as authentic as possible. There are a lot decisions and research that needs to be done before you begin restoring an antique car. Depending on the age of the vehicle it may extremely difficult to find original parts or the right antique car tires . Also, the age of the vehicle may impact the color choices for both the interior and exterior. But after all of the hard work is done you will own your own unique piece of history to share with others. So the next time you are at an antique car show and are tempted to rush through all of the "old cars", take a moment to stop and really consider where that car has been and what part it has played in the shaping of not just the industry but the country.
