So what will rims look on your car? The short answer: awesome. The long answer: really awesome. In all seriousness though, a new set of rims will make your car look great, especially if you are still driving around with stock manufacture rims. First of all though, it's important to note that wheels and rims are usually thought of as synonyms with the word 'rim' often being used as slang to refer to the more formal term: 'wheels', which are inner-frame that holds a tire. Though technically speaking, a rim can be defined as the outermost part of the wheel, but for the purpose of this post and future posts it is easier to assume that rims and wheels are one in the same, in most cases anyway. Many custom wheels still retain the normal silver-ish metallic look of the materials used to construct them, but there are also several varieties of wheels that come in almost every color imaginable, especially custom wheels. But if you choose to forgo normal wheels in favor of color wheels now this: picking the right colored rims is not a simple as sticking with plain black or silver rims though if you hope to maintain any sense of style anyway - there are red, white, and blue rims, along with many more colors. When choosing a set of rims it never hurts to follow some of the basic principles of design and color theory -- that teaches that good style and aesthetics are built upon matching like colors, analogous colors, and sometimes complimentary colors --  if you really want your car to look its best. Analogous colors for those of you that may have forgotten, are colors that are adjacent to each other on the color wheel; for instance, the color orange is analogous to the color red. Complimentary colors on the other hand are colors that are directly opposite of each other on the color wheel -- the color red is complementary to the color green. Analogous colors blend together well while complimentary colors are meant to stand out but can sometimes be a little off-putting so to speak. So if you're indeed following the principles of design and you have an orange car then you can have yourself a winning combination design wise by matching your car's warm color with yellow, red, blue, or even orange wheels if you're trying for a consistent look.  And just like with fashion, black will match with just about anything, so regardless if your car is red, blue, yellow, green, or anything in-between then black rims are always a safe bet. But while you're selecting a new pair of rims why not pick up a set of high performance tires to go along with them too – after all you can never have enough of a good thing.
