Especially if your vehicle is going to be stored outside you can remove the windshield wiper blades to prevent them from sticking to the windshield or rotting off. If you are going to storing your car for an extended period of time it's important that you properly prepare your tires. To prevent flat spots from developing you can jack your car up so that the tires are just off the ground. It's important to keep a list of what steps you take to prepare your vehicle so that when you come back to it you can undo them. Taking the steps to prepare your vehicle ahead of time should help guarantee that whether you are leaving your vehicle for a few weeks, months, or years it will still be in same condition when you come back.
