Speaker:  Good! Great to see you. We just wanted to talk a little bit about the history. I understand this is your 35th anniversary. There’s got to be a lot of history there. Hank:  You know, there is, and it’s amazing. Believe it or not, I went in business 35 years ago. My dad actually started in the tire business when he moved to California and he worked down the street at the Firestone Store. It wasn’t a Firestone Store then, but when I was 16 years old, with some money that I had put away and some money my mom and dad put away, we opened our first store in Inglewood, California. From there, there’s been lots of stuff going on. My mom and dad got divorced, my mom wound up with the business. We grew our store into 10 stores and a distribution network. At one time, we used to service lots of other major chains with custom wheels. We decided that wasn’t a business we really wanted to be in and we focused on our retail stores. Well, then the riots came along, and I don’t need to tell you, that was not a lot of fun. We had a bunch of stores burned down, it was just financially devastating to our company. With a lot of hard work and perseverance, we regrouped down to several stores, this being one of them, this was not one our original stores here in Long Beach, and we were moving along pretty well. One night I got a phone call in the middle of the night from a neighbor across the street who told me this building was on fire. I immediately rushed down here. I think I ran every red light in Long Beach to get here, at 1:00 in the morning, and sure enough, the place was on fire. This building burned for about 12 hours. I called my brother, who lived in Burbank, and I told him what was going on, and he came down here and we both sat over on the sidewalk across the street and just said, “What are we going to do?” It was like, “God, not again.” We decided we were going to put it all back together and with the help of our landlord and our vendors, we were able to put the store back together into a new and more beautiful facility. We have since shed several other stores and we just have this one store. [caption id="attachment_2848576" align="aligncenter" width="200"] Hank and Joyce Feldman[/caption]
