As we begin to enter the holiday season it's an important time to remember and be thankful for all that we have. It's also an important time to give back to those in our community that don't have as much. A great opportunity to do this, and have some fun at the same time, is the "Hot Rod Happening" car show and Performance Plus Tire Food Drive . The event is set for November 20 in the parking lot of the Performance Plus Tire and Auto Superstore Long Beach, CA location. It will run from 8am to 12pm. Festivities will include a car show, live entertainment, free refreshments, and entertainment for the kids. There will also be a drawing for the "Great Entertainment Giveaway"; which consists of a 65-inch Vizio Class Theater 3D Color HDTV, a Sony Blu-Ray Disc Home Theater System and a Nintendo Wii Game system bundle with 14 games and four controllers. Raffle tickets for drawing can be purchased for $1 each or you can get one ticket for each non-perishable food item that you bring for the food drive. This is the 14th year Performance Plus Tire to host the food drive; which began as the Boy Scout project for the son of owner Hank Feldman. In the beginning they were able to gather enough food to feed 10 families; however the event has grown rapidly over the years and is now able to feed over 500 families in need in the Long Beach, CA area.   Performance Plus Tire and Hot Rod Hanks aren't the only ones reaching out the community. There are several local groups that also support the event, such as; Long Beach Model T Club, Coker Tire, Wheel Pros, Long Beach Police Officers Motor Patrol Association and many more. With the nice Fall weather in full swing, there is no excuse not to come out to this great event and have some fun, enter to win an amazing entertainment package, and most importantly give back to those in the community who are in need.
