The seat has a specific angle, diameter and depth. On factory wheels, the seat varies manufacturer to manufacturer and sometimes vehicle model to vehicle model! Aftermarket wheels are built to fit a wide range of vehicle makes and models, so matching the lug nut seat of an aftermarket wheel to the stock wheel would be nearly impossible. The solution for the custom wheel manufacturers is to offer the same lug nut seat across their entire line of wheels and let the consumer (you) get lug nuts that match the seat on the wheel. That's where we can help! By buying lug nuts through Performance Plus Tire, you are taking the guesswork out of which lug nuts to buy as we will send the ones that match your new wheels! All you have to decide is which lug nut kit to buy:
Our Standard Lug Nut Kit comes with a universal lug nut key, the correct number of locking lug nuts (depending on your vehicle) and four valve stems. The valve stems are installed on the wheels when purchasing wheel and tire packages. The key is universal, so while it does require a key to remove the lug nuts, this is the same key for all the standard lug nut kits. The lugs nuts require the key when being removed, so be sure to keep the key in the vehicle at all times! We suggest hiding it under the spare tire or in the spare tire tool kit so it can't get lost.
The Gorilla Lug Nut Kit comes with a serialized lug key, the correct number of lug nuts (depending on your vehicle) and four valve stems. The valve stems are installed on the wheels when purchasing wheel and tire packages. The Gorilla Lug Nut Kit key is serialized, meaning the key is specific to your wheel locks just like a key for a door lock you buy at a hardware store versus the universal key on say, a piece of luggage. This is a step above the Standard Lug Kit for added peace of mind when buying custom wheels. We think the extra $10 is worth the peace of mind! The lugs nuts require the key when being removed, so be sure to keep the key in the vehicle at all times! We suggest hiding it under the spare tire or in the spare tire tool kit so it can't get lost.
