Frequently Asked Questions re: our Food Drive

Is your event free?  - Yes!  All are welcome! This year we are also offering Free entrance to our car show entrants.  We hope while you are enjoying the car show and music, you will also support our food drive.  Purchase opportunity tickets for our “San Diego Getaway” prize package (see details below.) We will have additional items throw into the drawing that day, so there will be more chances to win! (Note: for smaller prizes, the winner needs to be present.)

Can I bring my children?  YES. This event is family-friendly and kids love helping put food in the boxes. Please keep your kids close at hand as there will be a lot going on that day.

Can I earn service hours?  YES. Stop by the info booth and fill out the volunteer form with your arrival time noted. Report back after at the end of your shift and one of our team members will sign off your form.  If you have a special form, please bring it with you.

What time should I arrive?  Cars entering our Car Show will start lining up as early as 7am.  Our official start time is 8am, when we will begin the assembly line to pack the boxes. We suggest you arrive by 10am to be able to help and enjoy all the fun.

Where should I park? Parking can get tight.  We suggest you carpool with friends/family.   The Long Beach Health and Human Service office at the corner of Cover and Cherry is a great place to park as they are closed on Sundays.  The LA Fitness parking lot at Cherry/Carson also usually has extra space; please park towards back so you don’t take away their parking. There is some street parking on Cover, as well as in the neighborhood across Cherry Ave.  PLEASE use crosswalks; Cherry is quite busy.

What types of cars are eligible to be displayed at your car show?  Our show is open to all vintage and modified vehicles. Spaces will be assigned by our volunteers in a first come, first served process.  If you want to be parked with your club, we suggested you meet offsite, and all arrive together.

San Diego Getaway Prize Package Details

How to enter:

You may buy tickets at any time prior to our food drive or on the day of the event.  The winner of this prize does not need to be present. Tickets are $1 each and may be purchased from our sales team OR by mailing a check to “Performance Plus Tire” to Joyce Feldman 3910 Cherry Ave, Long Beach, CA 90807. Joyce will complete the stubs for you and return the “keep” half to you. Please provide a phone number. The drawing will be held live at our Food Drive event on November 12th immediately after we are finished packing all the boxes (approximately 11am)
